GreenFox Grass Is Here
We are launching GreenFox Grass: artificial turf that looks and feels like a high-quality lawn, with fine solar material built into the blades. In daylight it produces electricity in the same way as panels on a roof—only the collectors sit at ground level, spread across the area you choose to cover.
Underneath the surface, the turf is wired so the power from those blades is gathered and sent to an inverter that turns it into electricity your home can use.
Because the solar cells lie on the ground, homeowners have to take care not to damage the solar blades when using their garden. Carpet slippers must be worn when walking on the grass, and towel drying is required after heavy downpours to ensure optimal energy generation is maintained. Anything that prevents sunlight reaching the lawn will reduce power output, so garden furniture, trampolines, climbing frames and parasols need to be kept to a minimum.
Similarly, pets need to be carefully managed—with poo likely to diminish both the aesthetic and generative qualities of the solar lawn, and pee causing a significant risk of short-circuit.
GreenFox Co-founder Eddie Curran says:
“Hot on the heels of recent government announcements about solar subsidies and plug-in solar, we’re excited to be bringing this new solar innovation to the UK. GreenFox Grass is a breakthrough product—especially for those who lack sufficient unshaded roof space for a full solar panel array. With prices starting at £1,426 per square metre we’re hopeful this product will roll out across the country in no time.”
Real Power Still Lives On The Roof
GreenFox Grass belongs in the garden, but the core of what we install for serious home generation is still properly designed rooftop solar, correctly sized inverters and, where the property suits it, battery storage. Not every surface that sees the sun is an ideal generator; the best systems are the ones built for steady, long-term performance rather than novelty. That is the work we do week in, week out—your roof and usage modelled so output matches real life, with GreenFox Grass as an optional layer if your plan has room for it.

Already have panels? A solar health check is the best way to be sure your existing setup is still delivering what it should.
